Time is making a fool of us

"There are two kinds of secrets, those we keep from others and those we hide even from ourselves"

"In periods of rapid personal change, we pass through life as though we are spell cast. we speak in sentences that end before finishing. we sleep heavily because we need to ask so many questions as we dream alone. we bump into others and feel bashful at recognizing souls so similar to ourselves"

“Have your adventures, make your mistakes, and choose your friends poorly — all these make for great stories.” -Chuck PalahniukTime passes and reflection comes more steadily, looking at past ideas, mistakes, and decisions. everything becomes more focused like a camera lends turned to the right degree. It is both a painful and gratifying experience. all i can hope is to not take this learning for grant it. the typical twentysomthing feelings have set in.

Real Living

If there is one thing I have learned its that life is truly too short, For Games, For Distrust, For Regrets. We have been given a incredibly valuable gift to live, to love, to learn. The world itself is our classroom and all those around us are learning just like us. What this means to me is that life must be treated as the rareity that it is. Seizing life instead of letting our days pass in front of our eyes like worthless leaves passing in the autumn wind. To take the days we are given and love them by loving ourselves, By loving the God that made us, and By loving those around us. I know I am often guilty of assuming others dont experience the same feeling that I have, fear, regret, guilt, insecurities, self hatred. Realize that Christ said "Love others as yourself" because we are much more like one another than we care to admit, We can understand one another more than we care to see. If we could begin each day bringing our world closer together and showing those that have never seen true love, What it means to be loved. That is Living

"The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively"
-Bob Marley

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat. -Mother Teresa

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired-Mother Teresa

Encased In Truth

This weekend the city of Memphis was covered in ice, not the best road conditions but the scenery was breathtaking. As I walked around my neighborhood awed by this kingdom of ice, I thought over what I have been learning.
I recently moved from Milwaukee W.I Down to Memphis TN this has been both exciting and terrifying. regardless it has been a huge growing experience. So as I walked past the trees completely encased in ice I began to think over my life specifically the past three years since my graduation from High School.
The single clearest lesson I have learned through my trials, errors, successes and failures is that what surrounds me is what I become. to coin a phrase "you are what you eat" through life experience and at twenty I have had a small yet flavorful taste. Its easy to see that if I want to be a useful encouraging person I have to seek out useful encouraging people, activities and places. while like anyone I enjoy a party and a drink from time to time I no longer want that to dominate my life. I don't receive anything long lasting from those nights and mostly laugh when remembering how important I once held those days. I leave you with words from a man who can articulate my feelings more eloquently than I. Mr. Ralph waldo Emerson For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.” So I encourage you to seek truth and to be sure that what you hold high and esteemed whether its a person or just a feeling deserves that place in your life and the time and passion it is given. This life is short live one of substance.
